Foreword

If you've reached this page, that means you have at least a passing interest in me and my blog.  Thanks for visiting.

This blog is about nothing in particular.  It's supposed to be a collection of whatever passes for my thoughts as well as a random assortment of photographs, videos, and links that i may have collected along the way.  Every once in a while (and that is rare), i may come up with something profound.

I've been writing on and off since elementary school and toyed with the idea of doing it for a living before i entered college, but in the end i decided to go into Medicine.  While there are days when i semi-regret this decision (usually when i access that treasure trove of ideas that i hope to write about someday that's locked deep within my brain), i love what i do and - on most days - wouldn't trade it for any other profession/career/lifestyle.

I got into blogging some time in 2004.  My very first blogsite is still intact here.  While i don't actively contribute to doktorko.com, it still remains near and dear to my heart; if i get started writing about medical stuff again, it'll probably be my go-to site.  Props to Dr. Manny Barias for keeping the site up and running.

My second blogsite is now defunct.  It used to be on vox.com, which closed down for good in September 2010.  Unfortunately i was too lazy to migrate all my stuff to Typepad.  Fortunately most of the content was previously copied someplace else (such as our annual photo albums which recently have been mutating into coffee-table books), and whatever wasn't - wasn't terribly important to me, so it's no great loss.  The only reason i went to Vox was because my mobile phone at the time - a Nokia N95 8GB - was by default set up to post pictures there.  I don't know why, since it wasn't a particularly good blogsite, but it was what it was, and i ran with it.

I've been contemplating moving to Blogger/Blogspot for some time, mainly because it's a part of Google.  I truly am a Google fanboy (i also own some stock, which has rebounded well since the double-dip) and it just seems right to me that i'm consolidating all my stuff on their servers.  (I would also get an Android phone if they could just eliminate that homescreen lag, but for now my iPhone is doing just fine)  The Picasa integration is a big deal, as it's what we use to process most of our photographs at home.

I do have the feeling that i'm going to enjoy using this site more and consequently post more stuff.  Only time will tell, and hopefully you'll enjoy it too.  Again, thanks for visiting.
